Description
A relaxing small country hotel, built as a dower house in 1840, and set in mature landscaped gardens overlooking the River Garry and the Pass of Killiecrankie. Enthusiastically run, the hotel maintains consistently high standards and a sound reputation for accomplished modern Scottish cooking. The compact fixed-price dinner menu changes daily and is driven by fresh local produce, including game and fish as well as herbs and vegetables from the kitchen garden. Suggested wine matches (from a spectacular list) accompany mains like grilled fillet of salmon and halibut with seared king scallops, roasted Mediterranean vegetables, roasted potatoes and pesto, while desserts might feature a banana and toffee tartlet baked with amaretti and served with Chantilly cream. (Lunches are served in the bar.)
