Description
This stylish Edwardian country house with delightful formal gardens and woodland makes a wonderful retreat. The restaurant features a simple and stylish traditional décor with lots of colourful artwork. Service is particularly friendly and attentive making the diner feel really at ease. Cooking style is Scottish with influences from the Mediterranean, using the freshest local produce available. Typical dishes include a starter of venison and pigeon terrine with quince purée and toasted brioche. Likewise, a main course might be halibut with spring onion risotto, baby leeks and a tomato and dill velouté. To finish, try the chocolate, brandy and ginger cheesecake with coconut ice cream, or a plate of Scottish cheeses.
