Description
Kelvinside railway station, a listed JJ Burnet Victorian building, has been converted into two stylish restaurants. Lux, on the upper floor, has a minimalist look, with wooden floors, comfortable leather chairs, subtle lighting and a muted colour scheme. The food is resolutely modern and consistently good. Quality ingredients are imaginatively prepared: perfectly cooked baked cod sits on a bed of linguine with oysters and king prawns mixed with chilli and a light toasted sesame seed dressing; and the chocolate bread and butter pudding is simply divine, the richness kept in check by a vanilla cream sauce and a thick raspberry purée. Stazione, with a Mediterranean feel, is the informal dining alternative.
