Description
An atmospheric haunt in the heart of the city, this renowned Edinburgh restaurant is a chic, upmarket dining destination. Canvas and copper make for a warm and quirky décor, while candlelight flickers in the surfaces of darkwood tables. Ingredients are locally sourced where possible and deftly handled by a kitchen confident in its skills. Take a rump of Borders lamb served with tomato, roast pepper and black olive couscous, or a fillet of organic salmon teamed with poached oysters, wilted spinach and a saffron velouté, and to finish, perhaps a chocolate frangipane tart with vanilla ice cream and griottines. The modern menu changes daily and is complemented by an extensive and award-winning wine list.
