The Queen's Head
Description
The Queen's Head is a lovely old building in the centre of Bramfield village on the edge of the Suffolk Heritage Coast, just 15 minutes from Southwold. The enclosed garden, ideal for children, is overlooked by the thatched village church which has an unusual separate round bell tower. The pub interior welcomes with scrubbed pine tables, exposed beams, a vaulted ceiling in the bar and enormous fireplaces. In the same capable hands for over ten years, the pub's reputation is built on enthusiastic support for the 'local and organic' movement - reflected by the menu which proudly names the farms and suppliers from which the carefully chosen ingredients are sourced. As well as baguettes and ploughman's displayed on boards, newly-introduced dishes maintain the menu's appeal: a starter of stilton and port ramekin; and main courses like locally-smoked kipper served with champ and poached free-range egg; or Longwood Organic Farm pork, apple and Aspalls Cider pie.
