Description
Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is home to the world's greatest historic ships: Mary Rose - King Henry VIII's favourite ship, HMS Victory - Lord Nelson's flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar and HMS Warrior - the first iron-hulled warship. In addition, the Royal Naval Museum has the most significant, permanent collections relating to Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar, and Action Stations gives an interactive insight into the modern day Royal Navy. April/June 2009 - 500th anniversary of Henry VIII's coronation and commission of Mary Rose. July/August 2009, 250th anniversary of Laying of the Keel of HMS Victory.
