Brigands Inn
Description
At the heart of the Cambrian Mountains, on the upper banks of the gin-clear River Dovey, lies the Brigands Inn, a renowned 15th-century coaching establishment. The pub's impressive setting makes it a popular base for exploring this scenic, spectacular corner of Wales. Fly fishing is a much-loved activity here, as is walking, and one well-worn route offers the chance to stroll up Camlan Mountain to inspect the site of King Arthur's last battle. Alternatively, or afterwards, opt for a glass of wine in the pub's sunny garden with its fine country views. The chef sources the finest local produce to create a fusion of contemporary and classic Welsh cuisine. The menus reflect the changing seasons with a good selection of fish, meat and game. A typical example is grilled fillet of sea bass with sun-dried tomato and pesto; grilled sirloin steak with tomato, mushrooms and onions; and loin of venison on caramelised red onions with a port and juniper sauce.

Having stayed for 3 nights at the Briglands Inn, I have to say it was lovely. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well equipped. The food served was a very good standard, plentiful and well put together. One of the best hotels I have been. Cant fault the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms. But needs to get the front door silenced.

I had an evening meal in this pub. I had previously heard good reports of the food. I was nevermore disappointed in my life. Go to your Morrison's/Tesco's restaurant, the standard will be the same but the price will be a lot less
