A star-studded celebration
On Monday 23 September, four lucky pairs of winners had the chance to mingle with top chefs, and a smattering of celebrities – at the AA Hospitality Awards, held at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
This stunning black tie event was attended by a host of world-renowned chefs, including Angela Hartnett, Tom Kerridge, Jason Atherton, Claude Bosi, Alain Roux, Tom Aikens, Glynn Purnell, Simon Rogan and Michael Caines.
Our winners were wined and dined in true style, as the AA celebrated the achievements of the hotel and restaurant industries.
The event opened with a champagne reception, followed by a sensational gourmet three-course menu created by top chef Sat Bains, accompanied by fine wines.
After dinner, our guests were treated to a breathtaking dance display from members of the Strictly Come Dancing cast.
The Awards presentations were hosted by broadcast journalist and news presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy – honouring the cream of the hospitality industry.
Here's what one of our lucky winners had to say:
It was a fantastic event – hard to put it all into words – but, in brief, the decor was fabulous, and all the guests on our table were friendly, especially our AA hosts – they were brilliant and we got on extremely well with them.
The champagne and wine were very nice and the gourmet meal was excellent – I have never tasted food that good before – it was great.
The AA lifetime achievement award was very humbling and interesting, and I think that Krishnan Guru-Murthy hosted the event well – and the dancing was breath-taking.
I love my goodie bag, and I was pleased to see the restaurant and hotel guide – they will both come in handy and will be used from time to time.
I would take this opportunity to say thank you very much – we felt so honoured to have been a part of such a wonderful celebration.
