Spectacular sky-high experience

London’s exciting new landmark, The Shard, reaches a sky-scraping height of 1,016ft (310m) – over twice the height of any other viewing platform in London – and is western Europe’s tallest building.

Five lucky Rewards member each won a pair of tickets to the grand opening of The View from The Shard, on Friday 1 February 2013 –  and were among the first members of the public to experience the dizzying heights of this iconic attraction.

Ascending in a high-speed ‘kaleidoscopic’ lift, our winners reached the View from The Shard’s viewing platform on level 69 – a triple-height, light-filled level where the breathtaking 360° 40-mile panoramic view is revealed. Here, multimedia displays and installations bring to life London’s past, present and future in a multi-sensory experience.

Next, our winners made their way up to Level 72, the highest public level of The Shard at 244m, where they received the best view in town, exposed to the elements with sounds of the city around.

  2. The free prize draw is only open to AA members and customers who register/are registered with AA Rewards and is not open to AA staff or members of their households or any agencies connected with this promotion.
  3. It is a condition of the competition that the entrant agrees to be bound by these rules, and in particular that the decisions of the AA and the judges on any matters whatsoever arising out of or connected with the competition are final. 
  4. All entrants agree to take part in any publicity related to this prize draw and to the disclosure of their name and county. By entering, entrants agree to be contacted in the future with marketing.
  5. The closing date for entries is 4 November 2012. The winners will be notified by 7 November 2012 by email or telephone.
  6. Prize is as stated and there is no cash alternative to the prize offered. Prize is non-transferable. No purchase is necessary. Only one entry per person.

  8. The winners will be the first five names picked at random from the entries after the closing date.
