Silverstone Classic

20–22 July 2012

Staged at the home of the British Grand Prix, this year's hugely successful Silverstone Classic – powered by the AA – brought together motoring, music and entertainment for the ultimate family day out.

The weekend's highlights

This fantastic event wasn't just for motoring fans. The Stowe Circuit was given over to AA World, where free driving experiences, funfairs and kids' activities kept the whole family entertained.

Here's a snapshot of the weekend's highlights:

Fantastic feedback

Thousands of visitors attended the event over the weekend. Here's what just a few had to say about their fabulous day out:

Gayna O'Rourke

I just wanted to say thank you for a simply amazing day at Silverstone today! My three kids had a terrific day, from taking a trip round the circuit as a passenger in a fab sports car, to changing tyres in the pitstop challenge. The best thing, however, was the chance to have a driving lesson with AA driving instructors – it was so good they came back for seconds! I can only commend all AA staff for making the day for us as a family – AA World was the high point for us, and all AA staff went the extra mile to ensure we had a good day. Many, many thanks for a well-organised and tremendously fun day.

I attended the 2012 Silverstone Classic yesterday and had a fabulous day. My guest and I thoroughly enjoyed your hospitality. The AA event was very well-organised and the food and drink was lovely. We also appreciated the VIP courtesy cars which enabled us to see various parts of the circuit. We were lucky enough to have a fast ride around the track which will be a memorable experience. The AA team were all very helpful – a big thank you to you all.

Beryle Superfine

A huge thank you to all the staff who made our day a memorable one. From the moment we arrived we were treated with utmost courtesy and respect. The actual day got better and better for us – one which will remain in our memories for a long time to come.

I would to thank you very much for a wonderful day at Silverstone Classic. From the moment we arrived at the car park, to the time we left, we were made welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. All of the team at AA World were very polite and attentive, and looked after us throughout the day. The hot lap was a real experience that will stay with me for a long time – very enjoyable.

I and my friend thoroughly enjoyed the Silverstone event. The whole day was well managed, with all staff very helpful and friendly. It is an event I will think of fondly for years to come. The laps around the circuit were a truly fantastic experience, and there was something for everyone to enjoy, from cars to planes and helicopters.

Our day out at Silverstone was a truly fantastic day, from start to finish. Everyone we met from the AA, starting from the welcome point in the car park to all in AA World, was so friendly and extremely helpful – nothing more could have been done to make us feel more relaxed. A perfect day that my son and I shall remember.

Ashley Jay

Just to say what a fantastic day my wife and I had at Silverstone last weekend, and how appreciative we are of the event invitation we received. I would also add a special thanks to the AA team that were there on the Saturday who were, without exception, courteous and helpful.
