On Friday 13 July, 10 lucky members received a hands-on falconry experience at Lainston House Hotel. Our members were guided through an exhilarating and informative falconry workshop by the hotel’s resident falconer – former Hampshire County cricketer Billy Taylor – with the opportunity to fly a variety of birds of prey on an unforgettable hawk walk through the beautiful Hampshire countryside, before returning to the hotel for a sumptuous two-course lunch.

Just a quick word to say a huge thanks to you, the AA, and Billy and his birds for a truly wonderful day. To handle those magnificent birds has been an ambition of mine for so many years, and to have an experience like Friday's was something that I will always remember. I hope that one day I might go back and see them again, but in the meantime keep up the good work, and I shall be keeping my eyes open for more Rewards events. Thanks again.

  1. The prize offers 10 members a falconry experience plus lunch at Lainston House Hotel on Friday 13 July.
  2. The free prize draw is only open to members who register with AA Rewards and is not open to AA staff or members of their household or any agencies connected with this promotion.
  3. It is a condition of the competition that the entrant agrees to be bound by these rules, and in particular that the decisions of the AA and the judges on any matters whatsoever arising out of or connected with the competition are final. 
  4. All entrants agree to take part in any publicity related to this prize draw and to the disclosure of their name and county. By entering, entrants agree to be contacted in the future with marketing.
  5. The closing date for entries is 10 June 2012. The winners will be notified by 13 June 2012 by email or telephone.
  6. Prize is as stated and there is no cash alternative to the prize offered. Prize is non-transferable. No purchase is necessary. Only one entry per person.

  8. The winners will be the first 10 names picked at random from the entries after the closing date. In the unfortunate event of the prize offered not being available, a prize of similar value will be substituted at the discretion of the AA.
