62 Lemon Street, TRURO, TR1 2PN
This longstanding neighbourhood bistro has a loyal following in Truro and it's easy to see why. An infectiously buzzy atmosphere is heightened by an open kitchen and a separate bar area, where some 20 wines are available by the glass. Staff are welcoming and the place holds equal appeal for romantic couples, business suits at lunchtime, and friends grabbing a few drinks for a post work catch-up. The décor is elegant and minimalist, broken up by some bold artwork on the walls, and tables outside are popular in the summertime. Modern bistro food using quality local ingredients is the name of the game here and daily specials are chalked up on the blackboard. You might start with a simple ham hock terrine with piccalilli, following on with turbot with crab risotto and spinach, or perhaps go for a classic moules marinières or the house burger. Custard tart with apple crumble ice cream hits the spot for dessert.
