The Greyhound on the Test

31 High Street, STOCKBRIDGE, SO20 6EY

2 rosettes

The Greyhound has no shortage of appeal, from upmarket, sumptuous bedrooms to a restaurant with that opened-up, country-chic vibe. The menu is a thoroughly up-to-date affair with regional produce at its heart; witness a starter of Broughton buffalo carpaccio with celeriac remoulade and pine nuts. At main course stage, super-fresh monkfish and scallops are served raw, cÚviche-style with finely shaved fennel, mooli radish and lime, or if you fancy something more visceral, the grill might supply best end of lamb, haggis and faggots with sweet-and-sour carrots and crushed olives. You're sure to go home happy after dark chocolate brownie with chocolate mousse, cherries and amaretti.
