Sands Restaurant

The hotel borders the 17th fairway of the legendary Old Course, and the Sands Restaurant is its second dining option. It has a stylish, sophisticated décor with lots of dark wood and black leather - shades of a luxury ocean-going liner of yesteryear - and an upbeat atmosphere. The cooking is accurate yet unpretentious with a good smattering of Mediterranean-influenced brasserie-style dishes. Twice-baked mini goat's cheese soufflé with red onion confit, daube of beef on roasted garlic mash with red wine jus, or whole sea bass from the grill are fine examples of the fare. Attentive, professional table service.
