Swish through the steel entrance of this Sloane Street hotel, and up the white staircase to the first-floor MU, a 21st-century cocktail bar and restaurant originally specialising in its own sub-genre, Asian tapas, but now evolved towards a standard three-course format. It feels a little like an airport executive lounge, albeit one done in throbbing lipstick-red, but makes a hot, happening environment for the pan-Asian (mainly Japanese) dishes on offer. These might take in skewers of chicken yakitori and spring onion to start, then roasted duck breast in yakiniku (barbecue) sauce with sweet potato and Chinese broccoli, or perhaps a Thai green curry. Sweet sushi rice is a delectable finisher, filled with tropical fruits and served with wasabi ice cream and ginger syrup.
