Mehek

Mehek is a slick contemporary Indian on historic London Wall in the City. The lavish interior was designed by a famous Bollywood set designer and looks eye-catching enough with its long bar, blond-wood flooring and vibrant colours to guarantee a solid following of city slickers and curry connoisseurs who come for its inventive pan-Indian dishes. Mehek means 'fragrance' and there's plenty of that going on in the delicately-spiced, authentic cooking. An exhaustive menu covers all the bases from the usual curry staples and grills from the tandoor to more inventive offerings - perhaps a starter of spicy whitebait to perk up the taste buds, before Hyderabadi duck, marinated in spices, with sesame seeds, coconut, peanuts and mustard, or a Goan fish curry of halibut simmered with coconut and red chillies.
