A couple of paces from the river, Chef Collin Brown is a smart, modern restaurant, with parquet floors, large windows, atmospheric lighting and neatly clothed tables. The man himself was born in Jamaica and brings the tastes of the Caribbean to this pocket of town. Starters run from homely red kidney bean soup with dumplings to the opulence of grilled lobster marinated in coconut cream, with main courses of tender jerk chicken breast, deep-fried snapper in brown stewing sauce, and a gutsy dish of oxtail braised with butter beans and peppers served with rice and peas. Finish with mango and passionfruit cheesecake with summer berries.
