Washingborough Hall Hotel,
Church Hill,
Washingborough,
LINCOLN,
LN4 1BE
Set in three acres of lovely grounds with a garden providing herbs for the kitchen, Washingborough Hall is a fine example of a Georgian manor house, and it now makes a delightful small-scale country-house hotel. Smartly refurbished within, there are plenty of elegant period features and attentive staff who create a relaxed ambience. Neutral heritage colours, and fashionably unclothed tables imbue the Dining Room restaurant with a quietly understated class, while the kitchen works with Lincolnshire's prime produce as the bedrock of its unpretentious modern cooking. The menu aims to soothe rather than challenge, so you might start with local asparagus teamed simply with a soft boiled egg and shaved manchego, then follow with pork tenderloin partnered by sweet potato purée and devilled kidneys, spring greens, crispy Parma ham and a cider reduction.
