Tucked down a little lane in this estuary town, a stone's throw from the glorious sandy beach, this is a family-run fish restaurant with more than a touch of French flair to the culinary approach. You'd expect to see Mediterranean fish soup with rouille, croûtons and cheese on the menu, and you won't be disappointed. That makes a wholly uplifting curtain-raiser to mains such as turbot in champagne sauce, or brill with chive mash and sauce armoricaine. Carnivores are not sent away empty (there are generally a couple of meat offerings, including perhaps duck magret in orange and Grand Marnier), and meals might end with chef Olivier's take on tiramisù with crème anglaise.

We reserved here for my aunt's 75th, based on the reviews here, and were not at all disappointed. The starters and main were excellent, and good value for money, and there was a great choice of wine too. After our meal, the chef, Olivier also came and had a long chat to see how things had been, what we thought of the meal and so forth, which was a rare and nice touch. We'd not hesitate an instant to return when visiting family again in Exmouth.

Simply the freshest seafood, beautifully cooked and presented. We have dined many times all courses just divine! In our opinion easily the best restaurant for seafood in the area with lovely friendly staff too you will not be disappointed!
