There's plenty of room between the well-dressed tables, and the kitchen seeks out first-class ingredients and delivers an ambitious, contemporary menu. A first course terrine of smoked ham hock and vegetable piccalilli comes with candied beetroot, radish and crispy shallots, while main courses include braised daube of beef with baby Irish carrot and leeks or fillet of turbot with confit potato and Jerusalem artichoke puree and truffle jus. Opt for a lemon posset to finish.
