This contemporary restaurant with rooms in the leafy suburb of High Barnet is the sort of switched-on neighbourhood eatery that would make a fine addition to any high street. Done out with a clean-cut modern look involving soothing earthy tones, etched glass screens, mirrors and tiled floors, the setting is a perfect foil to a contemporary repertoire in which dishes infused with Mediterranean sun keep company with comforting British classics. Dinner might open with fritto calamari or smoked salmon, then move on to slow-roasted belly of pork with mash and apple compôte, or pan-roasted cod with Puy lentils and beurre blanc. Puddings are as homespun as treacle tart, Braeburn apple crumble, or trifle made with Kirsch jelly.

Excellent ingriedients, lovingly cooked with lovely presentation. Nicest Halibut I have eaten, and husbands tornado of fillet with homemade lobster ravioli was 10 out of 10. Great service,best food in the area by far. Very good value.

Great cooking, seasonal, modern but with great style and proper portions using great quality produce. lovely room and building. fish was amazing and my wife turbot with lentils fantastic. great value at all levels. Excellent.
