Description
This twin-turreted country house on the edge of town makes a delightful boutique hotel, with its wooded grounds close to Gleneagles and dozens of other golf courses. The Cairn Bar offers meals throughout the day, but the Capercaillie Restaurant is the main dining focus here. Comfortable seating, helpful staff, bold décor and silver service set the tone. The kitchen's modern approach make good use of the abundant Scottish larder; take Scottish beef Wellington with honey-roasted vegetables and redcurrant juices, or perhaps grilled fillet of sea bass served with fragrant rice and lobster essence. Leave room for dark and white chocolate Genoese mousse topped with a fresh berry glaze.
