Norwood Hall

Within extensive landscaped grounds just a short drive from Aberdeen city centre, this imposing Victorian mansion has retained many of its original features, notably the sweeping oak staircase, the stained-glass windows and the ornate fireplaces. Attentive, amiable service sets the right tone in a dining room that is hung with old tapestries. The food is comforting modern British, along the lines of ham hock and goose liver terrine, seared halibut with pak choi, white beans and mussel and brown shrimp broth, and dark chocolate and orange tart with chocolate oil and blood orange granita.
