Description

An imposing Victorian mansion in 7 acres of grounds, with roaring winter fires, sweeping staircases and an oak-panelled dining room, aptly named the Tapestry restaurant after the ornate tapestry work on the walls. Well-spaced candlelit tables grace this richly furnished room, displaying fine crockery and glassware befitting the magnificent scale of the house. A selection of traditional and more adventurous dishes is the kitchen's style, driven by quality local seasonal produce, with an emphasis on game and seafood. The slick cooking majors on flavour and simplicity; perhaps medallions of beef served with a wild mushroom sauce and haggis, followed by chocolate brownie and vanilla ice cream to finish.
