The Partridge

Leather chairs, wood fires and lovely mirrors form the background to a menu of modern British and French rustic dishes at this Wallingford venue. Owner and chef José Cau has created a foodie's haven where the à la carte menu might feature foie gras ballotine; partridge wrapped in smoked pancetta; or rump of lamb. The daily Market Menu offers as less expensive alternative and could include chestnut mushroom lasagne or Cornish skate wings. Good ales, a formidable wine list and a pleasant garden complete the picture.
