The Armoury

The converted Armoury building makes an impressive, large scale pub, just over the bridge on the opposite bank of the river from the new Theatre Severn. Large warehouse windows and huge bookcases dominate the interior of the bar and restaurant area. There is a comprehensive menu accompanied by a great range of real ales, local cider and comprehensive wine list. Typical dishes are grilled fresh mackerel with Caesar potato salad; Welsh rarebit with a poached egg; pan-fried chicken breast with fragrant rice, pak choi and Thai green curry sauce.
