The Six Bells

The Street, PRESTON ST MARY, CO10 9NG

Newly restored, this charming Grade II listed pub is just outside Lavenham in a pretty village and is open from Wednesdays to Sundays. The huge garden is a bonus in the summer, and a good choice of ale is offered in the bar. In the dining room you'll find a daily-changing lunch and dinner menu, using strictly local and seasonal ingredients. Expect starters like beetroot, autumn vegetable and goats' curd salad, or pheasant terrine, with mains taking in Blythburgh pork belly and faggot with chicory and apple; or Adnams ale-battered haddock with hand-cut chips and mushy peas.
