The Windmill on the Common

Crackling open fires in winter and soft leather sofas make this pub a popular place for friends to meet. The original part of the building was known as Holly Lodge and at one time was the property of the founder of Young's Brewery. The Windmill today offers a varied menu with something for all tastes and appetites: 'Young's own famous pies' including steak and ale or chicken, leek and ham; fresh fish, grilled or in Young's beer batter; sausage of the day; and poached pear with cinnamon pannacotta are typical.
