Main Street, LITTLE BRINGTON, NN7 4HS
Barrel tables and beams; quarry tile and bareboard floors; leaded windows and a fierce wood-burner; the Saracens has character in droves. This 17th-century building of mellow ironstone slumbers in a tiny village where lucky locals enjoy a changing range of beers that includes some from local microbreweries. It's a popular stop too, for horse riders using the network of local bridleways, who can hitch-up in the garden for more sedate views of the countryside. It's a menu of modern British dishes and there's a tapas menu from Mondays to Thursdays.
