The Three Kings

Hengrave Road, Fornham All Saints, BURY ST EDMUNDS, IP28 6LA

An 18th-century coaching inn in Greene King's heartland, just two miles north of its Bury St Edmunds brewery. In 1173, Fornham was the site of the only documented pitched battle to have been fought in Suffolk. Family run, the pub has all the essentials - wood-panelled bars, restaurant, conservatory and courtyard. Bar food is mainly baguettes, sandwiches, wraps, salads and burgers, while the more adventurous main menu offers braised steak in red onion and balsamic jus; grilled smoked haddock; and Quorn chilli con carne. Pies and a vegetarian curry of the day feature as specials.
