The West Bay
Description
Built in 1739, this traditional bar/restaurant lies at the foot of East Cliff, part of the impressive World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Specialities are fish and seafood: West Bay velvet crab soup; and Lyme Bay hot crab pâté on toasted sourdough are starter examples, which could be followed by lemon sole with brown shrimps and caper butter; or roast huss with surf clams and sea beet. Palmers Brewery in Bridport furnishes the real ales, or you can ring the changes with a pint of Thatcher's Gold cider.
