Originally a coaching inn in the 17th century, The White Swan is set opposite the ancient church of St Brynach and enjoys an impressive backdrop of the Brecon Beacons. An atmospheric gastro-pub featuring stone walls, exposed oak beams, stone-flagged floor and log fires, it offers a warm and cosy welcome, whether you eat in the spacious Flagstone Restaurant or more the more informal bar, which also offers a lighter snack menu and Brains beers on handpump. The inventive menus change monthly and all dishes are freshly prepared using locally sourced produce. Lunch might be home-made faggots with mushy peas and creamy mash followed by Baileys cream cheesecake. Typical evening dishes include herb crusted best end and confit shoulder of Welsh lamb with leek mash and lamb jus. Puddings might include glazed apple tart with crème anglaise and vanilla ice cream. There's also a selection from the grill.
