The Abingdon Arms

High Street, BECKLEY, Oxford, OX3 9UU

Evelyn Waugh, author of Brideshead Revisited, once enjoyed the warm hospitality of the Abingdon Arms and the pub is just as welcoming today. Set in a pretty village to the north of Oxford, the pub has been smartly updated but still retains a cosy and traditional atmosphere. Good food and beers from Brakspear have also helped put it on the map. A range of light meals is available at lunchtime, while dinner could feature rump of lamb wrapped in pancetta or king prawn and clam linguine. There are opportunities for many pleasant walks in the area.
