We took our retiring Obstetrics Consultant for a meal there last night. The venue was lovely, but they charged £42-50 per head when their website advertises £35 and they wouldn't budge. The head waiter was very supercilious. I eventually managed to get it for £40 per head. Even at £40 the food wasn't worth the money. I wouldn't go back again. Very disappointing as the setting is lovely.

Disappointing. Our room with balcony was lovely, dinner was fine, but we then found our room was right above a wedding band who played for another 1.5 hours after we went to bed. Our room vibrated with noise. I took from the way the staff dealt with my complaints that it was my fault for asking for a room with a balcony. The next morning the general manager didn't take the time to speak to me, although I eventually got a 50pc discount on the room rate, small consolation as the stay was ruined.
