This imposing mansion enjoys a peaceful location in eight acres of landscaped gardens near Galloway Forest Park. It is said that Robert Burns, a friend of the Heron family who owned the house at the time, sat on the staircase and recited his poems. The inviting day-rooms comprise a choice of lounges, and two elegant dining rooms where guests can enjoy the delightful cuisine which is firmly based on top quality, locally sourced ingredients. Well-proportioned, individually styled bedrooms include some suites and mini-suites, and many rooms enjoy lovely views. The service is very friendly and attentive.
