Bradford's National Media Museum hosts the annual Bradford Film Festival. Alongside dozens of premières and previews, a series of masterclasses, "Screentalk" interviews, film symposia, silent-film events, director showcases and tributes to cinema veterans mean it's one of Bradford's most comprehensive cultural events.First held in 1995, Bradford Film Festival presents new and classic films from around the world and has become one of the most important English film events outside London. Highlights include the Shine Awards, which honour the very best in new European film-making, and the ever-popular Widescreen Weekend, featuring large-format movies up to and including IMAX and Cinerama films.
