The AA European Travel Helpline is a free*, English-speaking source of motoring and travel related information for AA members travelling in Europe.
You can use our European Travel Helpline to find useful and practical local information while on your trip.
For information and advice while you are travelling
European Travel Hotline is available to Members 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can use it to find:
- local directions
- flight/train/ferry times, routes and fares
- taxi or hire car information
- hotels, B&Bs and other overnight accommodation, including campsites
- information on local services, such as nearest garages or petrol stations
- translation service for dealing with motoring situations

You can call our Pre-Travel Helpline, before you go, for information on:
- legal requirements
- recognition of UK driving licences
- insurance requirements

*Although the service is free, your mobile phone provider may charge you. For example, it will cost £0.58 per minute to call the European Travel Helpline service from an O2 mobile purchased in the UK. However, mobile and other providers' charges may vary. The European Travel Helpline is a free service only available to AA UK Personal and Vehicle Members. This is an information only service. The AA will not be held accountable for any advice given. Information searches are restricted to up to two requests per call. All information will be provided to the best of our ability using resources available to us. The translation service is limited to short motor related conversations and translating motoring related printed information. The languages which can be translated are dependent on the resources available at the time of the call. The service availability may be restricted during period of high call volumes.
