Things to do in Germany
From zoos to fun parks, here's a round-up of theme parks in Germany. And if you hold an AA Membership Card, even better. Looks out for special discounts. Just remember to take your AA Card with you.

Legoland® Deutschland
Adrenalin junkies have the likes of Lego X-treme as well as the Test Track for budding Jenson Buttons. There are also themed areas such as the Knights' Kingdom and Pirate Land. New for 2009, check out Legoland Atlantis, an underwater world created by Sea Life. Plus, you can see a 'Bob the Builder' film in fascinating 4D – that's 3D with physical effects thrown in.
Where is it?
It's in the Bavarian town of Günzburg, which is just under 7 hours' drive down from Ostend. Your route could take you through Brussels, Aachen, Cologne, Bonn, Koblenz and Stuttgart.

Vogelpark Walsrode
This bird park claims to be the biggest in the world. Covering 240,000 sqm of a land, it contains over 4,000 birds of 700 species. You can even watch the penguins, pelicans and birds of prey being fed.
Where is it?
It half way between Bremen and Hanover, in a town called Walsrode. That's roughly 5.5 hours' drive from Ostend. Alternatively, it's just over 3.5 hours' drive from Esbjerg in Denmark, which takes you through Hamburg.

Wild-und Freizeitpark Westerwald
The Germans seem to be big on wildlife and we have another zoo for your delectation. Red deer, brown bears and bison are in residency to name but a few. But don't fret, if you have the need for speed, why not check out their summer toboggan run?
Where is it?
This is in a town called Gackenbach, the heart of the Rhineland, which makes for great camping territory. It's roughly 7.5 hours from Esbjerg in Denmark or just under 4 hours from Ostend.

Zoo Duisburg
The clue's in the name. This urban zoo dates back to 1934 and is one of the largest in Germany. Koalas and gorillas are just a couple of the breeds to greet you.
Where is it?
It's part of the forest at Duisburg, which is 2.45 hours' drive from Ostend. Alternatively, it's roughly 7 hours from Esbjerg.
