Become a Driving Instructor
AA Driving Instructor course
The AA Driving Instructor training (ADI) course has been developed by training professionals. Its three easy-to-follow modules combine home-based learning and 1-to-1 time with your dedicated personal coach.
Study at your own pace so that training can fit in with your lifestyle; it normally takes from 6 to 18 months to complete.
To join any ADI course you need to be over 21, and have held a valid driving licence for at least 3½ years. You'll need a commitment to learning and an ability to relate well to your pupils, keeping calm, maintaining control and generating trust. You will also need to be able to read a number plate from 90ft / 27.5m.
EDI endorses AA Driving Instructor Training
Leading Awarding Organisation EDI has worked closely with The AA Driving School to accredit the AA Driving Instructor training course. By approving this training as an EDI Endorsed Qualification, EDI has reviewed the aims and content of the training and confirmed that the standard required is consistent with a NVQ level 3.
