In the first months after passing a driving test, new drivers are more likely to be involved in accidents. Hazard perception training has been proven to be effective for drivers in developing hazard perception skills, so this element of the theory test was introduced to address this.
The test is taken on a computer, and you'll be presented with a series of video clips in which there will be one, and possibly two potential hazards. To pass the test, you'll need to identify the hazard early, as it develops.
Of course you'll need to study the Highway Code, or you can order our learn to drive books and CDs. A great way to get an idea of the hazard perception test is to practise on our smartphone hazard perception test apps.
