As an AA instructor, you make the decisions.
You choose how and when you want to work.
You can even control your franchise fee – the more pupils you find for yourself, the lower your fees will be.
We'll be your supporting network. We'll give you all the kudos and respect of the AA brand – and help you handle every one of your major business expenses.
Your car
You'll have a new air-conditioned Ford Focus, replaced every six months, with insurance, road tax and breakdown cover paid. All your car maintenance and servicing costs are covered, and we'll deliver a replacement vehicle to your door within 24 hours if you need one.
Air conditioned with power-assisted steering, it's easy to control and manoeuvre and has a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating (Euro NCAP tests, 2005), making it the safest car in its class for occupant safety.
You can choose to have a diesel or automatic, and we can even provide a low-cost second car for your family.

All our instructor cars are replaced every six months. And in the unlikely event there are any problems with the car, it will be replaced within 24 hours.
Your pupils
While you get established, you might want us to help provide pupils for you. Then as you establish your reputation, you can start to build the business independently.
Your mobile phone
We'll supply a low business rate mobile phone with no fixed contract. All calls to the AA are free and all other call costs reduced, with off-peak calls from as little as 2.5p per minute.
Depending on your usage, the mobile could save you an estimated £200 to £500 a year.
Your insurance
We'll take care of your car insurance for you so you'll have no excess to pay. Named driver cover for your partner is included. You'll also be eligible for special deals on all our other AA Car Insurance products. You'll also be covered for professional liability with the AA, and after 12 months as an AA instructor you are entitled to sickness and accident cover.
Your advertising
To help generate pupils for your business, we'll run national and local campaigns in cinemas, to AA customers, on local radio, and in directories like Yellow Pages. We'll also provide you with AA marketing materials which you can personalise to attract pupils in your local area.
Dedicated start-up support
When you start with the AA, you'll have a whole team of people behind you. We'll assign a dedicated adviser for your first few months and arrange meetings with your local instructor coach. You'll also be invited to roadshows and seminars where you can meet the management team and other instructors and build up a support network.
AA offers and discounts
You'll be entitled to savings and deals on AA car insurance, home insurance, annual travel insurance and our maps, guides and books.
And the longer you're an AA driving instructor, the better it gets. Loyalty rewards include free sickness and accident cover, Option 100 Personal breakdown cover, substantial discounts on your franchise fee, franchise-free periods and free branded clothing.
