The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre

This attraction explores the history, nature and geography of the Shropshire Hills, through a series of interactive displays and simulations. The award-winning Centre has recently been revamped and now has a new Secret Hills exhibition. Become a landscape detective as you follow the new family Timeline Trail, which takes you from the Ice Age to the present day. On the way meet the Shropshire Mammoth, look inside an Iron Age Round House, dress up in Celtic clothing, make a mediaeval seal and float over Shropshire by watching the panoramic hot air balloon film. Other features include the Ice Age Orienteering trail around Onny Meadows, a Craft Room and a Riverside Ramble. Also try Geocaching, a kind of treasure-hunt that uses hand-held GPS.
