American Museum in Britain

Claverton Manor, BATH, BA2 7BD

Write a review

Claverton Manor is just two miles south east of Bath, in a beautiful setting above the River Avon. The house was built in 1820 by Sir Jeffrey Wyatville, and is now a museum of American decorative arts. The gardens are well worth seeing, and include an American arboretum and a replica of George Washington's garden at Mount Vernon. Each year the museum holds special exhibitions and runs a full programme of special events with kids' activities, live music, living history events and Quilting Bees.
