Ironbridge Gorge Museums

Coach Road, IRONBRIDGE, Coalbrookdale, TF8 7DQ

Write a review

Ironbridge is the site of the world's first iron bridge. Designed by Thomas Farnolls Pritchard, and built by Abraham Darby III, it was cast and built here in 1779, to span a narrow gorge over the River Severn. Now Ironbridge is the site of a remarkable series of museums relating the story of the bridge, recreating life in Victorian times and featuring ceramics and social history displays.
