Sir John Soane was responsible for some of the most splendid architecture in London, and his house, built in 1812, contains his collections of antiquities, sculpture, paintings, drawings and books. Amongst his treasures are The Rake's Progess, the Election series of paintings by Hogarth and the Sarcophagus of Seti I.

Open all year, Tue-Sat 10-5 (last entry 4.30). Also first Tue of month 6-9pm. Closed BH, Good Fri & 24 Dec. Lecture tour Sat 11am (limited no of tickets sold from 10.30)

Parking (metered parking very limited, blue badge parking in NE corner of Lincoln's Inn Fields).
Coach parties welcome (pre-booking essential, max 15, no facilities for storing large bags).
