The world's smallest public railway has its headquarters here. The concept of two enthusiasts coincided with Southern Railway's plans for expansion, and so the 13.5 mile stretch of 15-inch gauge railway came into being, running from Hythe through Dymchurch and New Romney to Dungeness.
