Corfe Castle

CORFE CASTLE, Wareham, BH20 5EZ

Built in Norman times, the castle was added to by King John. It was defended during the Civil War by Lady Bankes, who surrendered after a stout resistance. Parliament ordered the demolition of the castle, and today it is one of the most impressive ruins in England. Please ring for details of special events.
