Dove Cottage was the inspirational home of William Wordsworth between 1799-1808, and it was here that he wrote some of his best-known poetry. The cottage has been open to the public since 1891, and is kept in its original condition. The museum displays manuscripts, works of art and items that belonged to the poet. There is a changing programme of special events, both historical and modern. Please visit website for details.
