AA Route Planner produces online routes in Great Britain, Ireland and western Europe for over 3.5 million users each week.

The Great Britain service has routes connecting almost every road, village, town and city, as well as nearly 40,000 places and points of interest, ranging from sporting venues to hotels and restaurants. Our range of route-planning services can enhance the content of your website and benefit customers.

XML routeing feed

Access the AA's databases to produce a customisable routeing service. You can even use the routeing XML feed to get mileages or journey times between postcodes, places and points of interest.

Truckers' route planner

Our Route Planner service can enable you and your customers to produce time- and cost-saving routes throughout Great Britain. The routes will also have a bias toward main roads, so your fleet of drivers can avoid town centres or backstreets.

The service is supplied as an XML feed for integration into your website or company software.

Digital maps

The AA has a long experience of producing atlases and paper maps for motorists. This data is now available to you in digital format for business use in your company, or even on your company website.

Mapping data is available in both vector and raster formats, and at scales from street level through to 1:100,000 and 1:1million.

Points of interest

The AA has a database of around 20,000 recommended points of interest (POIs), including:

• hotels
• restaurants
• B&Bs
• golf courses
• caravan and camping sites
• visitor attractions

All records contain: name, address, phone number and website address, along with xy coordinates and more.

Each of the AA POI categories is also rich in attributes. For example an AA restaurant has: Rosettes (AA restaurant rating), type of food, guide price, cost of house wines, dates closed, dress code, parking information, credit cards accepted and access information.

This data is available for business use within your company or on your company website, and is also available for use on selective satnavs.
