Working together in delivering training to young cyclists to give them an introduction to safe road use and develop road awareness.
AA DriveTech have decades of experience delivering training to a wide variety of road users and believe the skills you need to become a safe driver are developed from a very early age. We have a passion for road safety regardless of the mode of transport chosen by the individual and our mission is to eliminate road death and serious injury.
Included within the plans to achieve our mission is to deliver training to cyclists through the Bikeability programme as we know that good road awareness and safety are built into a driver many years before they get behind the wheel of an automobile.
AA DriveTech’s CycleAble scheme delivers a variety of courses tailored to suit the cyclists’ needs, which include levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Bikeability programme up to and beyond the levels set by the National Standards from Cycle England.
For more information regarding the Bikeability programme, please click this link http://www.dft.gov.uk/bikeability/
More information on the three levels of Bikeability training can be found by clicking these links
If you are a school, local authority or an individual that is looking to undergo cycle training then please contact our team to find out more or to book a course.
Our cycle trainers are handpicked, fully qualified and experienced in the delivery of Bikeability training in accordance with the National Standards and have been fully trained in the delivery of AA DriveTech’s CycleAble course structure. A full site risk assessment is carried out on the location to be used for training and all appropriate safety precautions are taken to ensure the safety of the attendees. On every course there will be one instructor accompanied by an assistant to ensure there is the correct instructor to attendee ratio and hi visibility tabards are issued to each person, which along with correct attire and an approved cycle helmet will mean the attendee has the best possible protection during the course. All our trainers are CRB checked to comply with legal requirements in place when working with minors.
