Frequently Asked Questions

All you need to know about AA Credit Cards

About AA Credit Cards

Can I transfer a balance from more than one other credit card or store card?

You can transfer the balance from as many other credit or store cards as you wish, up to 90% of your available credit limit. If you need a higher limit to do this, please ask and we'll be happy to consider your request. Transfers from other cards issued by the Halifax and Bank of Scotland are not accepted. We can process balance transfers from the majority of credit cards, however, there are some credit and store cards that we cannot transfer balances from, please call us for details.

Can I have a second cardholder on the same account?

Yes, as long as they're over 18, they are an immediate family member and primarily reside at your current address. They will share your credit limit but you'll be responsible for all their transactions. We'll only take instructions from you, the principal cardholder, but we can give out information to other users of your account. To add an additional cardholder call 0845 300 4706.

Who is responsible for making payments on an additional card?

As the principal cardholder, you are financially responsible for all payments made on the account.

How much is the minimum monthly payment?

The minimum payment is 2% of the outstanding balance or £5, whichever is the greater. If there is an outstanding balance of less than £5, the full amount will be due. If you have a balance at an interest rate of 26.75% of more, then the minimum payment will be 2.25% or £5 whichever is more.

How can I make payments?

You can make payments in many ways. For example: direct debit; cheque; postal order. Full payment instructions will appear on the back of your statements.

What happens if I'm late with payments?

A late-payment fee of £12 will be charged to your account.

What happens if my card gets lost or stolen?

Call us as soon as possible on 0845 300 0344.
